NOC Engineer I at Kforce, El Monte, CA

Responsibilities: As a NOC Engineer I, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Oversees day-to-day Data Center processes in order to ensure systems are performing optimally & are available

  • Acts as an interface between customer & corporate IT entities for notifications, escalations, problem determinations & resolution for all system related issues

  • Works with others, collaborates in making important decisions on technical solutions, when performing all Data Center/Network Operations functions

  • Recommends, authors, published, & maintains Data Center & Network Operation Policy, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines

  • Daily operations monitoring of all servers, network equipment, telecommunications links, daily operations, racking of equipment, cable management, environmental controls, monitoring of system health, escalation of issues, incident management, vendor support calls both hardware and software, along with various support systems located in the computer room.

  • Assist NOC Manager to ensure that the organization is able to take advantage of all possible savings through detailed analysis of the current data communications systems in use.

  • Assist the NOC Manager with the analysis of current staffing, educational needs, potential acquisitions, and pending projects.

  • Direct and provide functional direction to Information Technology staff (Support Technicians and Senior Systems Technicians).

  • Ensure all hardware/software within the Bank is maintained and make recommendations for upgrades as needed.

  • Work with other business units to prepare, test, and maintain the organizational Disaster Recovery Plan.

  • Work with vendors for maintenance, testing, and repair

  • Solid background with Windows 2003 and 2008 server

  • HP SIM, SCOM, Dell OMSA, networking knowledge (routers and switches)
