Job Description
KEY RESULT AREAS:
The Division Sr. Quality Systems Leader is responsible managing the Quality System programs for the Ralcorp Snacks, Sauces & Spreads Division. This position also serves as a Q & FS contact in support of the Product Development Process and as a liaison with R&D, Sales and trade customers concerning all quality related issues.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
~Develops, establishes and maintains the Division Quality System to ensure products are produced in compliance with Federal and State law in conjunction with Company and customer standards.
~Develops professional relationships with plant leadership teams, division Q & FS personnel, R&D, suppliers, regulators and auditors to ensure division quality strategies are implemented across the division.
~Analyze quality data including consumer complaints, customer feedback, finished product results, ingredient issues, etc., and works with manufacturing facilities to develop and initiate corrective action. ~Works with Quality Systems team to conduct annual quality system assessments of manufacturing facilities.
~Provides Q & FS support to assigned projects in the Product Development ~Process including working with the R & D and manufacturing to develop and maintain HACCP based Quality Plans and required quality procedures.
~Supports Division’s quality procedures collaborative program.
~Supports Quality System requirements for all RS3 Contract Manufacturing/Packing facilities and ensures on-going compliance. ~Provides back-up support in the absence of the Quality Systems Manager.
~Provides technical support in the area of Quality Systems training to manufacturing facilities.
~Develops a professional relationship with Sales representatives and participates on customer teams. ~Corresponds with plant personnel to investigate customer and consumer issues including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
~Provides professionally acceptable written resolution to satisfy customer expectations regarding customer and consumer concerns.
~Develops a professional relationship with the Q & FS representatives of key customer accounts and supports customer visits as requested by Sales.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
~Supports the customer approval process for new and reformulated items by working with the manufacturing and distribution locations.
~Supports manufacturing facilities during Regulatory, Customer and 3rd Party audits and assist in corrective actions as necessary.
~Initiates reviews with Regulatory and Legal personnel as required for applicable activities.
~Supports the division’s internal co-manufacturing initiatives by representing the Q & FS group on assigned projects including attending customer meetings to ensure Q & FS expectations are understood and achieved.
~Other duties/assignments as requested by immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
~Bachelor of Science required; Food Science, Analytical Chemistry or related field is preferred.
~Minimum of five years experience in Food Manufacturing, Quality, Food Safety or Operations.
~Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety.
~Previous experience having Quality Systems oversight for multiple locations is strongly desired.
~Direct experience with GFSI certification schemes (SQF, BRC, etc.) is required.
~Knowledge of statistical process control and six sigma methodologies is desired.
~Knowledge and/or experience with NIR spectroscopy is desired.
~Efficient computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes Databases and SharePoint are preferred.
~Possess strong interpersonal skills, along with supporting verbal and written communications skills.
